How it all started...
A litigation attorney since 1978, Pastor Terry was elected by the church on December 18, 2002. The first action he took as pastor was to name his partner in life, his wife, Sharon, as co-pastor. From the start, Terry held to the belief that, since God chose him even though he had no theological or seminary training, he was to do things differently and not be held to church traditions. That journey that began in 2002, took many turns, but in 2014 Exceleration was transformed from an inward focusing church into a life-giving, joy filled body of believers intent on bringing the good news of the gospel to our community.

Expanding the vision...
In January of 2017, Exceleration moved from its traditional building to its present location at 7737 LA 23, the main artery into Belle Chasse. Previously used as an offshore catering warehouse, the building maintains much of its original outer appearance. Inside, the space is open, inviting and comfortable. The original warehouse space is now used for the welcome center and sanctuary. The space has intentionally been kept open and accessible and is easily transformed into other venues as the community requests. One of the main purposes of the building is to be available to the community for weddings, funerals, parties, and other events.
Where we are headed...
Exceleration Church will continue to focus on reaching out to our community, both to share the good news of Jesus Christ, and to provide support and assistance to those in need. Through our Salt & Light ministry, our teams are ready to serve as and where needed.
